I decided to try skiing because one of my friends said it was really good fun. Because it was a new skill to me I decided to do it as the 'Skill' part of my Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award.
I traveled to the Chillfactor at Manchester to learn. I had one taster session which I didn't enjoy. But I went a few more times and each time it became more fun.
I learnt with an instructor who taught me to turn left and right in the 'Snowplow' position.
After I got the basics I went to the top and practiced linking left and right turns together. It was tiring but I now love skiing and can't wait to get back.
