Because the weather was nice and there was still plenty of snow about Ali and I decided to go for a walk Great Dunn Fell.
first of all we had to find a good spot to make it. We looked for somewhere with a lot of snow.

We dug into the side of a snow drift and threw the snow down the hill.

When it got big enough we had to work as a team. One person would dig from the inside and pass the snow to the other on the outside .

When the snow hole was big enough we dug a cold air trough between two beds. The cold air trough lets the cold air. The beds are higher because it is warmer higher up.

We dug the snow cave using an ice axe and a shovel.

I was worried about the snow cave collapsing. I climbed on the top and jumped on it to see if it would collapse but it was okay.

When it was finished we went inside and made some hot drinks.

It was pretty cosy inside and it was very quiet.
