Orienteering Coombs Woods NY514450
I went to an orienteering event to help me learn how to read a map.
I am going to learn how to use a map and compass for my Duke of Edinburgh award.
We met the orienteering people at Coombe Wood.
I did the short course.
I had to find places using a map. When I got to the places marked on the map I had to register. These places were called ‘control points’.
It took me 53 minutes and 59 secs to complete the course.
I came 16th out of 24 entrants.
I thought it was a little bit tiring but a good achievement.
