Little Mell Fell (and new outoor clothing test)

We went to Little Mell Fell. When we got to the top it was very wet and windy but I had my new outdoor gear on which kept me dry and warm. Little Mell Fell top (505m) When we walked back down I used the compass to take a bearing back to the car.

Snow Cave

Because the weather was nice and there was still plenty of snow about Ali and I decided to go for a walk Great Dunn Fell. We decided to make a snow cave for fun. first of all we had to find a good spot to make it. We looked for somewhere with a lot of snow. Finding the right location We dug into the side of a snow drift and threw the snow down the hill. working as a team When it got big enough we had to work as a team. One person would dig from the inside and pass the snow to the other on the outside . Digging from the inside When the snow hole was big enough we dug a cold air trough between two beds. The cold air trough lets the cold air. The beds are higher because it is warmer higher up. Digging the trough We dug the snow cave using an ice axe and a shovel.
