Lakes Expedition 2009

We left Alston at 9.30

We started the expedition at the Scafell hotel in Rosthwaite. The weather was cold raining.

We then walked for an hour and arrived at a village called Grange.

We walked up the west side of the lake stopping at a bay next to an island for dinner; I had a pot noodle.

We then walked to a cafe, had a cup of hot chocolate, and then walked to Keswick Youth hostel.

At the youth hostel we booked in, got our key, put our stuff in our room and then went shopping for groceries. Back at the youth Hostel we made a curry, got changed and then went to the cinema.

The next day we got up early (7am) had breakfast, got packed and then set off down the east side of the lake. We walked to a cafe at Ladore and had a drink before setting off up hill towards Watendlath. We made it to Watendlath in good time and then walked down the last bit back to the car for 3pm.

The trip was 16 miles in total I felt tired at the end but I would like to do more in future.
